All DayMATZAH WITH A MISSION
Strengthening Faith, Sustaining Tradition
In 2024, amidst uncertainty and conflict, the community of Shlomit remained steadfast in their mission to bake and deliver Matzah in time for Passover. With the help of volunteers from across Israel, every piece was carefully prepared, packed, and shipped, transforming challenges into opportunities and nurturing a connection to the land of Israel.
Yedidya Harush lived with Jeff & Cindy Borell for more than 2 years after his family was evicted from Gush Katif. For more of his story and more about the Matzot, keep reading below.
Matzah is $36/lb (approximately 8 pieces to a lb).
Purchase for you family and/or for families in need in our community (to be distributed through local Rabbis).

Meet Yedidya
Yedidya Harush was born in Gush Katif in the Gaza Strip, where his parents settled after being evacuated from the Sinai Peninsula in the 1980s. In 2005, his family was displaced again due to the Disengagement and became founders of Halutza, a community near the Gaza and Egypt borders. Harush later served in the IDF's Paratroopers Brigade, including deployments during Operation Protective Edge in 2014 and the October 2023 Hamas invasion.
Between his military service, Harush built a life in Shlomit, raising a family and working as the Jewish National Fund's liaison for Halutza. Driven by his commitment to southern Israel’s development, he founded the Emunah Matzah Bakery in Netivot, which began operations during Passover in 2022.
"People who buy our matzah are not only get amazing matzah but also fulfill a mitzvah, so the bakery workers can go home knowing they have a place to come back to next season."
Our Story
On the border of Egypt and Gaza, in the heart of the Negev Desert, lies the village of Shlomit. This land, where our ancestors once journeyed to freedom, is now home to a vibrant community dedicated to preserving the traditions of Passover while building a future rooted in faith and resilience.
Every piece of Emunah Matzah tells a story thousands of years in the making - a story of liberation and renewal. Just as the Israelites crossed the desert to seek their Promised Land, the people of Shlomit work tirelessly today to cultivate life in this rugged terrain, transforming challenges into opportunities and nurturing a connection to the land of Israel.
Our Product
Our Matzah is handcrafted with wheat grown in local fields, nurtured by the same soil that sustained our forebears. The water comes from Jerusalem, infusing every bite with the spirit of Israel’s eternal capital. Together, these elements create a Matzah that is more than a tradition; it is a testament to the strength and faith of a people who have endured and thrived against all odds.
Support
By choosing Emunah Matzah, you are doing more than celebrating the holiday of freedom - you are standing with the families of Shlomit, strengthening their village, and fortifying the frontlines of Israel’s survival. Together, we honor the past, embrace the present, and support a future built on faith, resilience, and the enduring connection between the Jewish people and their land.
